PORT OF MOKHA: SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING, WEB COPY, BRAND IDENTITY

Port of Mokha is a heralded coffee brand whose founder’s story inspired the New York Times best-selling novel, The Monk of Mokha, by Dave Eggers.

I worked with Port of Mokha at a high-level to shape and document their company voice in a comprehensive brand-level style guide. Then, I put that style guide to work.

I worked in tandem with Port of Mokha’s Creative Director, Chase McBride, to map out marketing campaigns for Port of Mokha’s new products, write product copy for the website, design the copy featured on Port of Mokha’s bags of coffee, promote new coffee offerings in email campaigns, and entice new customers on Instagram.

Some of the highlights of those efforts include launching and writing monthly email series in which Port of Mokha founder, Mokhtar Akhanshali, shares stories from his time traveling Yemen and working with farmers there. Whether he’s finding a secret room full of coffee, attempting to summit a nearly vertical mountainside to get to sample some of the world’s finest coffee, or explaining why freezing coffee is as close as we can get to time travel — there are always stories to tell.

Recently, I’ve helped Port of Mokha brand, launch, and run their latest coffee auction, Coffee from the Clouds, as well as their newest product - Port of Mokha’s Pour Over Pouches.
